GO TO NEW PHOTOS

Thanks to Wendy Connell of the Doon Village, Ham Radio had great exposure along Homer-Watson Blvd for the week prior to FD.

Despite ongoing construction at Doon Heritage Crossroads we were able to get set up without a lot of trouble. While the tower was being erected Lynda VA3LWH and James VA3TNG cooked up some Hot Dogs, Hamburgers and Sausage for all present.

Thanks to the Doon group we again had the use of the Big Tent. Several stations were set up in the Tent. We definitely had plenty of room for our 7A operation.

Gord VE3NQK/RGG, Bill VE3ETK and several others set up 40 PHONE in a separate trailer. Sunday morning, Bonnie (now VA3BLM) a graduate of the spring Radio class made her very first HF contact on 40 PHONE with K0SX a 2A-CO. How many of us remember our first phone contact?

Dave VE3RBA and Jane VA3JSC set up a tent in the big field and using their own generator worked 20 CW and some 20 Phone. Dave designed and built a trapped dipole supported by homemade antenna supports.

Jonathan VE3CBX/RIM set up his very nice 40 CW station in the Big Tent. Dennis VA3DLT tried for Satellite Contacts with no luck again this year. Maybe next year.

Although it remained a little windy both Saturday and Sunday the weather remain beautiful. Some people did complain about it being chilly Saturday night, but then again, some people are NEVER happy.

Saturday night we were all treated to another EXCELLENT CHILLY DINNER, compliments of Hubie and Eileen Stumpf. I think the CHILLY gets better every year.

Sunday morning Lynda VA3LWH, Collin VA3CTG, Jane VA3JSC, Fred VE3OQB, Gord VE3EOS and Bonnie VA3BLM prepared Breakfast. 15 People attended.

Sunday Morning most stations closed down early. Dave VE3RBM and Jane VA3JSC held on to the very end.

Many thanks to all those whom help make this a GREAT Field Day including but not limited to:

Ben VE3ST, Bill VE3ETK, Bob VE3XNB, Bonnie VA3BLM, Collin VA3CTG, Dave VE3RBA, Dennis VA3DLT, Don VE3ESE, Fred VE3OQB, Gary VE3XM, Gord VE3EOS, Gord VE3NQK/RGG, James VA3TNG, Jane VA3JSC, John VE3SJV, Jon VE3CBX/RIM, Lynda VA3LWH, Paul VE3SY, Ron VA3TVS, Stan VE3VAC, Wally VE3HQ and a host of others all helping make this a very fun time.

And once again we cannot overlook Hubie and Eileen Stumpf for a very fexcellent Saturday evening meal. I think we all look forward to the Stumpf's very FABULOUS chilly dinner. That along with a glass a very good wine makes for a delightful repast.

Each year at Field Day our Canwarn coordinator Ron Gravelle VA3TVS does a great job of promoting the Environment Canada CANWARN system.
