The "Radio Club", as they call us at Martin's Restaurant in Luther Village, held its annual Christmas lunch Wednesday December 4th. Over 25 members and spouses sat down to a hot meal completed with coffee or tea as a chaser. The plate was replete with baby carrots, green beans, nicely mashed potatoes with a very tasty gravy, and a choice of perfectly done roast beef, with horse radish side dish, or grilled chicken breast.
The efforts of Chef Kim were the subject of numerous complements. This has not always been the case with previous chefs! Our regular hostess Colleen was as gracious and efficient as ever.
A draw was held after the meal. The selector was our impartial hostess, and while the many gifts were modest, they were indeed appropriate for the holiday season. VE3SNY was somewhat disappointed in the premier prize. a bottle of fine Rhine wine. It seems that the alcohol content had been carefully extracted before bottling! But his wife appreciated the attractive bottle bag. Our thanks to Paul VE3SY and Ron VE3DBD who provided the photographs.
Participation in this weekly gathering is restricted only by its inconvenient timing at 9am during a Wednesday work day. Join us for coffee if you can spare the time.
