The first record
of a Kitchener-Waterloo club appeared in the 1922 Call Book printed
by the department of Fisheries. The callsign issued to the club was
3ABA. It is this document that we use as the baseline for when
KWARC originally was formed in 1922.
The first actual document that
that has been found which had information regarding the formation of
KWARC is a letter written to C.A.R.O.A. by Earl Stickney on 20 April
1946. The letters C.A.R.O.A. stand for Canadian Amateur Radio Operators
Association.
Here is that letter reproduced in its entirety.

Here is an Indication of Club Growth
As with most clubs, the KWARC has a group of officers
and committee members who are charged with operating and administering
the club in accordance with the guidelines set down in the constitution.
An interesting comparison can be drawn when looking at the group set up
in April of 1946 at the club's inception and comparing that group with
the current group for April 1992.
The group in office on April 1946 was as follows:

There were approximately 40 hams at this first meeting.
Over the years ample evidence of the overwhelming popularity of the
hobby and gives a glimpse of the many directions which the hobby has
taken. As a comparison, the paid membership in 1997 - 1998 was 178. < The following is a list of KWARC Presidents
from the year 1945-46 to the present time. If you can help fill in the
